help, please.

i am preparing for the long winter ahead. i know, who can think of winter so soon...but i need to be prepared.

i am looking for songs for a new playlist. songs having to do with sunshine...any ideas?

thanks for your help. maybe i will send you one if you help me. that is, if you want one. and i can't guarantee it will be done soon. but definitely before winter.

hey liz, how 'bout i just make you a mixed tape? there's too many songs to list here, so i'll burn you a cd and you can use what you like.

Michele's idea is a good one, but I'll go ahead and list a few songs to get you started and make you a cd as well from my sunshine in my soul playlist:
Golden - Jill Scott
Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall
Crazy Gnarls Barkley
Soak up the Sun - Sheryl Crow
Do You Realize - The Flaming Lips (it is a bit more wistful but still reminds me of summer for some reason)
What I Am - Edie Brickell
Beautiful Day - U2
Listen to the Music - Doobie Brothers
Wildflowers - Tom Petty
What I Got - Sublime
Just A Ride - Jem
Dancing Queen - ABBA (a must for you!)
Steal My Sunshine - Len
Yellow Sun - The Raconteurs
Cosmic Girl - Jamiroquai
Staying Alive - Wyclef Jean
Tropicalia - Beck
Hey Ya - Outkast
You Had Me - Joss Stone
Let me know what sounds good to you......

Those are all great suggestions, but no collection of songs about the sun would be complete without They Might Be Giants' "Why Does the Sun Shine?" You can preview it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oyz7e8iQ6Uo

Corinne Bailey Rae- put your records on, that one just makes me happy. How about Brett Dennen's- she's mine, it reminds me of a young summer love. Or how about his "so long sweet misery", you could say so long to your winter blues. No, perhaps it's to slow. Maybe his "Day by Day" could be a good pick me up. At least if you put any of these on your mix it will remind you of me, and then you will automatically have to smile, right?! Oh I do have a good one, how about Rainbow, by G. Love and Jack Johnson, you have to use that one- the harmonica in it rules!

I still love the groovy love CD you made-

You probably wouldn't like my 'uplifting', make me happy music.

Looks like you'll have plenty to choose from, from your friends! Good luck!

I have to suggest the Beatles "Here Comes the Sun" and also "Sunrise" by Duran Duran (just because Simon LeBon was my first love, and true love lasts forever). Hope you're doing well, Liz. Amanda.
