developing my talents!

thanks to tiff for introducing me to hair today! i love, love, love this site (and right now, she is doing a give-away...go see). i have already done the hair headband on anna. and here is the proof:

my hair-doing talents are really being developed. here is the haircut i gave shawn on saturday:

i know, it really is quite short. but that's what he wanted. and i think it looks pretty good for my first haircut ever!

so, if anyone needs a braid or a short do--just come on by!

moab--here we come...

we are off to moab today. shawn is running in the half marathon on saturday. i am a bit excited. he has only raced once (in midvale's harvest days' 5k run) since we have been together. he has trained hard and i can't wait to see him run--go shawn!!

as a side note: many of you may know that i hate running and thus mostly hate runners. shawn is the exception probably because i am married to him.

all you need is...what? one smart cat

for the last few days i have had "all you need is love" very cutely written on my chalkboard in my kitchen/dining room. this morning i came downstairs to this:

apparently alice is out of food.

here is a six month update--there are two cranes onsite now...this is a picture of the smaller one. you can compare with the old photo here.

it is simply amazing to me.

and here is the nail with my pretty ribbon garland that shawn used to nail the tree to the wall.

my garland is now three feet shorter.

BUT not only did shawn nail the tree to the wall, he nailed the tree stand to the floor. i discovered this yesterday as i tried to pick up the tree stand to move it outside.

if you look in the bottom left hand of the photo, on the green round part of the stand, you can see the shiny brass head of the nail.

there were three. pounded right through the carpet and into the floor.

needless to say, my tree did not fall down again!

very sad indeed

shawn has been out of town this week. he'll be home on friday. he had to go to california to meet with the four seasons people (part of his new duties as a project manager). i thought he was staying at a four seasons. apparently not. but the owners of the one they are building in vail are staying at the one in california. for a discounted rate of $400 a night.

do you know what that means? even though my husband is building a four seasons hotel, i will never ever ever be able to stay in one.
